NaNoWriMo Prep 2020

10/16/2020

What have I been doing the last few months instead of updating my page like I should?

I got more work done on my Alice in Wonderland tattoo. The Cheshire Cat is my newest character. I cannot get over that face and how velvety his fur looks!                                  (You can find the shop and artist here: https://www.instagram.com/stainedpuritytattoo/ )

I've recently switched locations at my "real" job. You know, the one that pays the bills. I'm definitely missing the old crew and customers but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to move to a larger store.

I've been gearing up for the upcoming NaNoWriMo season and have spent the last few months planning my new story, Nursery's Rhyme. I'm feeling pretty good about where I am as far as the story itself goes. I still have a few kinks to work out with subplots but I think that will happen as the story progresses.

I have decided to handwrite the whole thing again this year. I tried it out last year and it seemed to work in my favor. I did a lot less cringing when looking over previous chapters. For my fellow writers, I do find it important to point out that I am using notebooks that I already owned. Complete insanity, I know, but I thought I would try out being a responsible adult and not spending additional money for no reason. I divided them into chapters and color coded them to match my planning notebook so I don't have to spend time searching for any information.

So far, my characters are following the same trend as other works in progress. My villain is still my favorite and my MC...he's kind of a jerk, but hopefully readers will at least love to hate him. I think that counts for something.

I also got a new kitten. Her name is Gizmo. She's adorable and completely psychotic. If you've ever come across those memes claiming that cats are assholes, that's her, 100% without question. I love her!

I'll be spending the rest of the month finishing up my chapter outlines since most of them are still pretty basic at this point and I'll be sure to post a few excerpts as well as the synopsis come November.

Be the first to read what's new!
